What It Is

The MediLUX Five-Wavelength System

LED light therapy uses specific wavelengths of light on the skin. Different colours sit at different depths, which is why a system with more than one wavelength can be tailored to what your skin is looking for that day. At Rejuvia we use MediLUX, which offers five wavelengths, from blue through to near-infrared, used singly or layered.

The panel has an adjustable arm that covers the face, neck and decolletage, and a flat configuration for the back and stomach. It is non-irritant and suitable for all skin types, including sensitive and reactive skin, and there are no consumables and no downtime, so LED slots neatly onto the end of another treatment or works as a quick standalone.

MediLUX is Australian-engineered. Read about the device from its maker: MediLUX by The Global Beauty Group.

Which Light for Which Skin

Each wavelength sits at a different depth and suits a different look. Benice will choose one, or layer a few, to suit your skin on the day.

Blue Light

415nm105 mW/cm2Breakout-prone skin

Blue is the wavelength most associated with breakout-prone skin. It is a popular choice for a clearer, calmer-looking complexion as part of a regular routine, and it pairs well with a facial when congestion is the main thing on your mind.

Green Light

520nm95 mW/cm2Pigmentation and uneven tone

Green is chosen for the look of uneven tone and pigmentation, which North Queensland sun makes a common concern. It is a gentle way to work towards brighter, more even-looking skin over a series of sessions.

Yellow Light

590nm30 mW/cm2Redness and sensitivity

Yellow is the soothing wavelength, a gentle choice for redness-prone and sensitive skin. It is used to support skin comfort and soften the look of visible redness, which makes it a favourite for reactive skin and a calm finish to a treatment.

Red Light

633nm115 mW/cm2Firmness and age management

Red is the wavelength people reach for when firmer, smoother-looking skin and age management are the goal. It is a lovely, relaxing finish that leaves skin looking fresh and radiant, and it is the one most often added after another treatment.

Near-Infrared

830nm125 mW/cm2Post-treatment support

Near-infrared reaches the deepest of the five. It is chosen to calm and support the skin, which is why it is a favourite finishing step after a more active treatment, leaving skin feeling settled and comfortable.

The figures above, wavelength in nanometres and output in mW/cm2, are the MediLUX device specifications. They are what let us tailor a session to your skin.

Good Questions

Before You Book

Straight answers, no sales pitch.

How many sessions will I need?

LED works best as a course rather than a one-off, so consistency is where you see the most. Many people run a series close together and then keep it going as a regular add-on to their facials. We will suggest a realistic rhythm for your skin and your goals, and our packages are built to reward sticking with it.

Does it hurt?

Not at all. LED is warm, gentle and completely relaxing, and plenty of people drift off during a session. You wear protective eyewear, lie back under the panel, and there is nothing to feel beyond a comfortable warmth.

Can I combine it with other treatments?

Yes, that is one of the best things about it. LED Express is designed to add on to a facial or an advanced treatment as a calm, no-downtime finish. It also works as a quick standalone session when you just want a little skin time.

Is it safe?

LED is non-irritant and suitable for all skin types, including sensitive and reactive skin. You wear eye protection and the session is comfortable throughout. As with any treatment, let us know if you are pregnant, on medication that affects the skin or light sensitivity, or have a specific condition, so we can make sure it is right for you.

How soon will I notice anything?

Skin often looks calm and fresh straight after a session, and the more meaningful changes in how your skin looks build gradually over a course rather than after a single visit. That is exactly why LED is best kept up as a routine, and why the packages make sense for most people.

What is the difference between LED Express and LED Pro?

Express is the shorter session, ideal as a $45 add-on to another treatment or a $59 standalone. Pro is a longer standalone session at $79 for when you want more LED time on its own. If you are already booked in for a facial, the Express add-on is the easy, good-value choice.
